This 'flow chart' illustrates and exemplifies my method of working. Whilst it IS a creative process, with many permutations and options for design, the needs of the client are  paramount and to this end I always ensure full collaboration throughout the project.

After all, it is YOUR website, not mine!

A part of my contract with a client can be that I will take responsiblity for the maintenance of the site for its lifetime. This includes such elements as adding new pages (going through the same process as outlined above, to ensure consistency), adding or replacing graphics or developing the original format to keep up with the possible changing client needs.

Whilst being computer - literate since the time they came into our lives, web-design had always appealed to me as both a technical challenge and a way to express my creativity. For me, web design is  an 'art form' that enables me to reach a global audience. THE PROCESS.

 

Access client (usually over the Internet)

Email / Telephone discussion of need, purpose, design style.

 

then....

 

    Paper design, showing layout, and

 suggested styles / fonts / hyperlinks / buttons / graphics

 

next...

 

Contact client with page dump / email attachment

of paper design for approval.

 

then...

 

 Begin Homepage build.

       (FrontPage; DreamWeaver8)

 

after....

 

    preliminary testing in all browsers

      to ensure correct display of objects,

      working links, graphics display.

   Adjust accordingly.

 

next...

    

 Index (homepage) complete with all elements.

    Send link to client for approval.

           Engage in email / telephone / real-time conferencing to refine.

 

then...

 

  Begin to build next page(s).

     Ensure all elements are consistent across site,

    i.e. colours, formatting, font, point size etc.

 

after...

 

    Insert any new elements as per  client request.

         Flash animations, links to other sites etc.

 

finally....

 

FINAL CLIENT CONSULTATION AND APPROVAL

UPLOAD TO WEB HOSTING.
